Commonly used for treating:
Acne, Dermatitis.
Origins:
'Turkish' or 'Indian' geranium oil was a term formerly applied to Palmarosa Oil and this dates back to when the oil was shipped from Bombay to various Red Sea ports and then transported to Bulgaria and Constantinople. It is native to Pakistan and India and now grown in the Comoro Islands, Brazil, Africa and Indonesia. It is commonly used as a fragrance in soap, cosmetics and perfumes.
A herbaceous plant, it has long slender stems with flowering tops. The essential oil is extracted by water or steam distillation of the fragrant grass which may be fresh or dried. The oil is pale yellow or olive in colour with a floral, sweet geranium-like aroma.
Therapeutic Effects:
Valuable for all treatments of the skin by stimulating cell regeneration and acting as a moisturiser. Also excellent for stress related conditions and nervous exhaustion.
Cautionary Note:
No specific cautionary notes. Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. If ingested seek medical help. Can irritate if used undiluted. Store in a cool dark place. There may be other cautions not listed.
